cross x edge

Cross X Edge is a crossover jrpg between many ips from Bandai Namco NIS to Koei Tecmo and Capcom developed by Idea Factory.

The main goal of the game is finding and rescuing souls.

The story itself its average as average can get especially considering how this is really just a way to make this as an advertisement for many of the brands here.

The characters themselves are as expected as you see them to be from their respective games of course.

Its a grid based turn based game simple objective defeat enemies form powerful combos rinse and repeat and its a grindy process too.

User interface too yeah its another sign of the times considering how clunky it can be.

The graphics are generally fine and so was the art too but theres a catch however, the game has a lot of assets recycled, from the agarest games apparently and while I've only have played record of agarest 2 i could easily tell that so much of the game just copies off from it ironically and it just felt really lazy to me.

Apparently the grinding factors were made that way on purpose, just to get players to buy the dlc which is just really inexcusable and just borderline lazy.

The true ending of the game, with the way to get is just incredibly vague so you are going to have to rely on a walkthrough just to get to that ending.

As players set about freeing the trapped souls supporting the nightmare world that they are stuck in, they engage in turn-based team battles. Players must enlist characters from previous games to join in party-based battles. Success in these battles is based on the ability to string together specific moves into chain attack sequences, which in turn unlock even stronger combinations when successful. Players can also increase their characters' stats and abilities by acquiring additional costumes called "forms" and redressing their characters in them. Female characters' physical appearances can also be changed based on the form they're wearing.

The music was pretty decent.

Overall this was an incredibly average game.

It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
