Dairoku is an Otome visual novel by Idea Factory and is one of their many otome games they have created. The game gets a lot of inspiration from various Japanese mythology and I find the concept of interdimensional travel very interesting. The world is set in Sakuratani, a town in another dimension.
The story revolves around Shino Akitsu and on her life as a guide and peacekeeper. Shino Akitsu has the ability to see living creatures that others cannot. These beings travel across dimensions and Shino is part of a government agency that tracks the movements of these interdimensional beings as they try to keep the peace between worlds. Shino encounters a wide variety of these beings each with their own personality and character.
The interactivity is straight forward, there are battles where you have to press the button at just the right time. You can use a map to check which characters you would like to interact with or which battles to take part in. There is a lot of back and forth going on to see what endings you can get before you can be able to reach to the real ending.

The characters were ok and basically typical of the average type in this genre. Unfortunately, some characters just keep coming and going to the point you forget they even are in the story. The artstyle was good and the background designs were fine as well. The music too was also good. The user interface was well designed and easy to navigate.
The finale was a bit hit and miss. Some parts were cool like seeing the cast come together but many of the blink and miss characters were also there. There was a decent amount of replay value, and a flow chart to check and see what else you can do.
The game has its fair share of translation errors and grammar issues.
Overall, it was an alright visual novel.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
