Persona 4 Golden is the updated version of the original persona 4 game for the ps2 it focuses around the investigation team solving the strange murders going on in Inaba and the mysterious tv like world thats connected to it.
Lot of the story themes focus around self identity and acceptance of it and of course media manipulation and the countless such cases of it too and each of the dungeons focus around said issue of character identity one of the party members goes through and accepting of it too.
Atmosphere wise its lot more cheery and bright than so than say what persona 1’s own spooky eerie 90s style went with.
Of course as before social links with its benefits is a thing as well as pretty much most of the character development happening there and not the main story sadly.
Dungeons are straightfoward just keep going up to reach the end of the point and thats it though there is occasional backtracking not as severe as the other smt or persona games but still annoying somewhat.
The arcana card system makes a return where you get bonsues occasionally be it more expierence points or combat buffs and of course it gets more powerful as time goes by too as usual.
Of course since its the updated port new locations,demons and activities are there to take part in and find.
You can take part in requests too as before for rewards same old usual repeittive stuff too.
Turn based system as before exploit enemy weaknesses all out attacks its all there.
You have your variety of activities to take part in too as well and social stats to increase too and the time management stuff too.
Graphics and art are pretty good.
Music too is pretty good as well both old and new tracks.
The characters well to get this aside, of obviously its an ATLUS game and of course too the characters are naturally just tropey dogshit same as before over and over done time and time from again to again these days.
And yeah, the dialogue and lolcowlization as expected is going to be godawful too.
Theres also ALOT and i mean ALOT of discourse and as always all fucking forms of it is beyond pointless and fucking stupid as all fucking hell regarding certain well.... identities so to speak and all i really have to simply say is this, just fucking run and don’t ever look back at all with mainstream social media let it all burn in hell like the rest of fucking soyciaty for all i fucking care thats really the only true winning card to all of this shit.
Overall it was an ok game.
It gets 4 out of 5 stars.
ATLUS just fucking stop already with the lolcowlizations and milking and the dlc fuckery just fucking stop it already you guys are all braindead fucking idiots if you think ATLUS/SEGA isn’t doing well or think anything they do outside of smt/persona is irrelevant weeb incel stuff or ATLUS can’’t do no harm if anything both the lolcows of the SEGA/ATLUS fandom and the lolcows in SEGA/ATLUS are a marriage made in heaven so enjoy the fuckery atlus/sega and atlus fans ya’ll deserve each other in hell period.
