Phantom requiem of the phantom is an anime adaptation of the visual novel by nitroplus.
Story wise to start off with its a mix of politcal thriller and noir crime story llot of the times the story never really sticks to what it really wants to go for.
It focuses on Zwei and Ein who work as assassins for Inferno a powerful mob group that seeks to unify the criminal underworld as well as the story focusing on the conspiracies that inferno is involved and the eventual downfall of the group as well as finding out their own pasts too and how they really ended up in Inferno.
The plot starts off fairly slow but it does pick up the pace after a while and the pacing is really the biggest flaw is how inconsistent it can be.
The story can be fairly predictable at times too.
The music was pretty decent.
The art design was decent too.
The characters were generally ok too though some were fairly underdeveloped and had not really that much backstory to them but as time goes by alot of them just act way out of character unexpecdtly as a result of the odd pacing due to the story it has.
The chemistry between the lead characters was ok as it is.
Quite frequently characters jump in and out then get killed later on and it becomes inconsistent due to some of them having more or less screentime then others.
Some of the episodes were recap episodes that you can skip entirely and were just there as padding and filler.
The ending too it can be pretty divisive either you think its good or not is clearly up to interpertation but to me, i just felt like i have more questions than answers to it.
The action itself was generally ok.
Overall it was an ok show.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
