Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is the 8 and as of now, the most recent entry in the mainline games by CAPCOM. 

It continues on Ethan Winters journey with dealing with the B.O.W’s and why exactly his family is tied toward the b.o.w’s and his journey to save his daughter too while exploring a mysterious village ruled by Miranda the main villain of the story. 

Like in 7, it utilizes a first person view for gameplay and this time it focuses more so on action than so survival in contrast to the 7th game its way on par with the level of action heaviness of 6.  

Its also alot more open ended with its world design which is pretty interesting take for the series formula. 

The story is basically a rehash, of many of the concepts from the 4th resident evil game and its really not interesting and the characters too again not really that compelling either save for Chris Redfield.  Not really impressed with the story then again not really surprised Crapcom is into repeating history with the dark times of the early 2010s but this time hiring a globalhomo writer who did a globalhomo story called atomic blonde so theres that yeah resident evil was better off with their earlier writers than this shit we see now. :/

The atmosphere too just doesn't really feel unique in contrast to 7 which utilized a more down to earth southern feel to the story. 

Theres also alot of faulty plotholes too apparently that just leaves more questions than answers as if they are planning on making a new revelations spin off game. 

The game does have a variety of other types of B.O.W’s from Lycans,Witches and Vampires particularly the Dimetcturu family who has certainly gained a cult following online. 

Puzzle solving does make a return too pretty straightforward to solve. 

The saving is manual as before with it being done through the classic typewriters. 

You can even buy and sell items you come across through your journey just like in re4 too. 

The game also includes hunting where you can eat food for special bonuses for gameplay. 

The graphics and art was pretty good. 

Overall it was an alright game. 

It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
