Winter’s Wish: Spirits of Edo is a visual novel for the Nintendo Switch. It focuses on the main character being able to see “black threads” before a disaster occurs. The superstitious villagers exile her to the mountains until a young man appears before her. The girl must use her special powers to prevent the disasters from happening. This game is a lot more focused on fiction than Hauoki’s Otome series, which is based around real events, the game does its own thing.
The story was intriguing and exciting. The artstyle was simply gorgeous and the character designs were very good to. The characters were interesting, and the music was enjoyable. As with many otome games, its interactivity is choosing dialogue options and the locations you want to visit. With six different routes to play, you do have a certain variety in the game.
The publisher Askys left a number of grammatical errors in the script.
Overall, it was a decent visual novel.
