Y’s memories of celceta is a jrpg thats part of the evergrowing and ever so confusing Y’s series by Falcom.
It focuses on Adol trying to regain his memories and find out more on really why he lost them in the first place.
The story itself is average and atypical of a Y’s game.
Of course there is quite a bit of filler that sidetracks the story quite abit atypical of the usual sloppy writing Falcom is notorious for.
The localization too and the dialogue and voice acting is really obnoxious too.
The enemy variety of the game as expected of the series is pretty extensive.
The characters are as bland as ever and Adol’s silent voice being inconsistent with him having lines and the dialogue options is just awkward as ever.
Each party member you have has their own special abilities and combat skills that are useful for any situation you are in.
The dialogue options are as usual beyond pointless to even make in the first place since the story remains the same no matter what.
The combat like in other Y’s games is real time action based in comparison to the Trails games before the Calvard arc and not counting Nayuta.
The boss battles were all unique and pretty interesting to fight.
Like in other Y’s games you can equip relics and other abilities to help you traverse and reach to other areas in game.
Theres the extra meter where you can unleash a powerful attack the more, you keep successfully defeating enemies.
You can upgrade your equipment with the materials you find throughout the game.
The more you explore in the game and report your progress, the more rewards you get.
The artstyle is pretty good and so were the graphics too.
The music as always from Falcom is pretty great.
The game does have a good amount of backtracking in it.
Overall it was an ok game.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
You really have to like Falcom games alot to really enjoy this.
